GARLIC GRAVY DOSA

Ingredients:
500  gms garlic, peeled and chopped
100  gms  shallots
6  each, onions and tomatoes, chopped
1  lemon-size tamarind, soaked in one cup of water
10  dried red chillies,broken
1  tsp  each, black gram, split (urad dal),aniseed and fenugreek seeds
1  tsp each, chilli, pepper, cumin and aniseed powders
1/2  tsp turmeric powder
1  pinch asafoetida
1  cup oil
Salt, to taste

Method:
  • Heat oil in a wok and stir-fry asafoetida and garlic for a minute. Add onion and shallot and saute till it turns pink.
  • Add tomato and powdered spices and cook till semi-dry. Add salt and cook till almost dry.
  • Make dosa and spread a tablespoon of the filling. Let it cook on medium flame for a minute and fold. Serve.
